“We believe engagement isn’t measured in a score alone. It has to do with the survey response rate, too. Engagement doesn’t always have to be happy. It has to do with employees feeling comfortable to share their challenges,” Stacy explains. “Giving feedback and continuing to participate shows that employees trust us. While the platform might show an 80% engagement score, if employees continue to be a part of the process and its momentum, they’re engaged and trusting of the process.”

This year, North Risk’s survey isn’t even closed yet, and the team already has 88% participation and over 1,200 comments for leadership to review. Employees like the level of confidentiality that Energage provides and the fact that the company can’t trace answers back to individual employees.
